Hi
I ruptured my achilles 3 weeks ago playing badminton. It's high up where the tendon joins the calf. The hospital put me in a cast and haven't been open to either a walking boot or a more active recovery. However I have bought myself a boot - a maxtrax walker and have been using that during the day. So far I have only put very light weight on the leg. I've also seen a physio privately and she suggested a few exercises.
In about 4 weeks time I'm expecting to be more active and have a holiday planned (before the ATR). My question is whether anyone can recommend equipment to prevent a re-rupture during the 8 - 12 week period. I'm expecting to use the boot a lot but was wondering about other supports or taping the AT and calf. For instance I've seen the Bauerfeind AchilloTrain Achilles Tendon Support and similar online. Has anyone used these and can recommend?
Thanks very much
